UNY Graduates 1,510 Students, Rector Appreciates High-Achieving Graduates

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held a graduation ceremony for its Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Applied Bachelor’s programs for Period II Phase 2 of the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the UNY Sports Hall (GOR) on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. A total of 1,510 graduates were officially conferred their academic degrees and are ready to contribute to society, the nation, and the country.

UNY Students Affected by Disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra Receive Living Cost Assistance from the Regional Government

The Regional Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Pemda DIY) has shown strong commitment to supporting the continued education of students by providing living cost assistance to students from public and private universities whose families were affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The handover took place on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Bangsal Kepatihan, Yogyakarta.

Sobat Bumi UNY Plants Mangroves at Baros Beach, Bantul to Boost Coastal Environmental Awareness

On December 21, 2025, Sobat Bumi UNY — a student environmental community from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) — carried out a mangrove planting activity at Baros Beach in Bantul Regency. The event was part of UNY’s commitment to preserving coastal ecosystems and raising environmental awareness among students and the wider public.

About 60 participants took part in the mangrove planting initiative, including UNY students, high school students, members of the 4K Yogyakarta community, Relawan Gesit Yogyakarta, Komunitas Mangrove Baros, and volunteers from various universities.

UNY KKN Students Promote Gluten-Free Eating Patterns in Dusun Ngodolendo, Temanggung

Students participating in the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), assigned to Dusun Ngodolendo, Ringinanom Village, Parakan District, Temanggung Regency, conducted a socialization activity titled “Getting to Know Healthy Gluten-Free Food for Families.” The event aimed to increase community knowledge about healthy dietary patterns and to encourage the use of local food ingredients that are safer and healthier for families.

UNY Biology Education Students Deliver Learning Media to Four Partner Schools

Students from the Biology Education Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) handed over biology learning media to four partner schools: SMAN 1 Seyegan, SMAN 1 Pengasih, SMA Gama, and Pondok Pesantren Ibnul Qoyyim Putri. This activity was part of the implementation of the Biology Learning Media course project and represents UNY’s contribution to improving the quality of learning in schools.

UNY PBSI FBSB Lecturer Becomes Visiting Lecturer for SPARK 2025 Program at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China

A lecturer from the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI), Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture (FBSB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Dr. Ari Kusmiatun, participated as a visiting lecturer in the SPARK (Supporting Program for Academic and Research Knowledge) 2025 program. The event was held at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) in China from October 28 to November 27, 2025.

Holding Socialization on Introducing Renewable Energy and Energy-Saving Education to Support SDGs 7 at SMPN 1 Wates

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through the Marketing Management Study Program, organized a socialization event titled “Solutions for Energy-Saving and Environmentally Friendly Approaches for an Energy-Aware Generation” at SMP Negeri 1 Wates. A team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students conducting community service (KKN) in Padukuhan Gunungsaren Lor, Trimurti Village, Srandakan District, Bantul organized training on how to make liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from tofu processing waste. This activity, initiated by the KKN students, received positive responses from local residents because it offered a simple, low-cost solution that benefits both the environment and plants.
