UNY Sends Students to Japan, Ready to Develop Global Competence

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to enhance its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, UNY dispatched 12 students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Vocational Faculty to participate in an international internship program at Dai Ichi Pan Co., Ltd. in Japan. This initiative marks a significant step in expanding UNY's global network and enhancing students' competencies in the international workforce.

Life Skills Training for Children with Special Needs

A team of lecturers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UNY — namely Isti Yunita, Ph.D., Prof. Jaslin Ikhsan, Dr. Kun Sri Budiasih, Dr. Cahyorini Kusumawardhani, and Sukisman Purtadi, M.Pd. — carried out a community service program titled “Training and Mentoring Life Skills through the Making of Healthy Food for Children with Special Needs” at SLB Bhakti Pertiwi Yogyakarta.

This programme reinforces UNY’s commitment to inclusive and equal education, and the development of practical skills that provide independence for learners.

UNY Strengthens Global Commitment to Inclusive Education Through International Workshop in Singapore

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) reaffirms its commitment as a pioneer in inclusive education and gender equality at the global level. Dr. Nur Azizah, Ph.D., a lecturer in the Special Education Study Program at the Faculty of Education, served as a speaker at the Workshop on Lifelong Learning and Inclusion for People with Intellectual Disabilities, part of The 5th Asia Pacific Pre-Congress IASSIDD 2025 held in Singapore.

Collaboration between UNY and Kebumen Regency: Community Service Program for Village Empowerment and Innovation

A total of 119 students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) were officially welcomed by the Government of Kebumen Regency for the Community Service Program (KKN). A community service team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), led by Dr. Suhartini, recently assisted the Barokah Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Jomegatan, Ngetiharjo, Bantul, DIY. The assistance focused on training in processing natural ingredients into herbal beverages in both solid and liquid forms, packaging techniques, and marketing strategies.

UNY Plants Mangrove Trees at Mendit Beach, Kulon Progo, Supporting SDGs and UI GreenMetric

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by planting mangrove trees along the coastal area of Pasir Mendit Beach in Jangkaran, Temon, Kulon Progo, on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

A team of students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has successfully secured funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology's Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) for their research titled “Zine Therapy: A Multimodal Art Therapy Strategy for Emotional Regulation of Students in Inclusive Schools at SD Pedagogia Labschool FIPP UNY.” This research, conducted over approximately four months from July 7 to November 4, 2025, aims to address emotional regulation challenges among students in inclusive education settings.
