UNY Rector Inaugurates 136 Ormawa and UKM Administrators for the 2026 Period

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially inaugurated the leadership of the Student Organizations (Ormawa) and Student Activity Units (UKM) at the university level for the 2026 service period. The inauguration ceremony was held formally and solemnly at the UNY Hotel Ballroom on Friday (13/2/2026).

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to reinforce its commitment to establishing clean and service-oriented campus governance by organizing the event “Good Practices in Integrity Zone (ZI) Development Toward Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM)” on Thursday, February 8, 2026, at the Main Meeting Room, Rectorate Building, UNY.

The event was attended by UNY Rector Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, vice rectors, deans, vice deans, directors, and ZI team members from various faculties.

Garuda UNY Team Takes Top Podium at Shell Eco-Marathon 2026

The Garuda UNY Eco Team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) achieved a major international victory by securing first place in the Urban Concept – Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) category at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2026 competition held January 21–25, 2026 at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.

UNY Hosts Pra-Konaspi XII 2026

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Karangmalang Education Forum (KEF), organized by the Central Leadership Council of the *Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Alumni Association (DPP IKA UNY), served as a strategic discussion space to respond to the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education under the theme “AI and Improving Education Quality for All.” The hybrid forum took place at the Ballroom of the IKA UNY Building and was attended both in person and online via Zoom.

Signing of Cooperation Between UNY and BPSDMP Ministry of Transportation

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially signed a cooperation agreement (MoU) with the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation (BPSDMP) under the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. The signing took place at the Theater Room, 3rd Floor, Sugeng Mardiono Building, Graduate School UNY.

This collaboration aims to strengthen synergy in the development of human resources, education, research, and community service between the university and the national transportation sector — supporting efforts to produce competitive and capable graduates.

Focus on Education and Social Aspects, Collaborative Humanitarian KKN Officially Starts in Manyak Payed, Aceh

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, 110 students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) along with students from partner universities were deployed in the Collaborative Humanitarian Community Service Program (KKN Kemanusiaan) in Aceh Tamiang Regency. The send-off ceremony at the Manyak Payed Subdistrict Office marked the official start of their service to help support communities in recovery after floods and landslides.

Betran Yunior, S.I.Kom — from selling iced tea with his parents by the side of a school to walking across the graduation stage at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) — his life journey is a story about dreams nurtured through hard work and perseverance. At the UNY December 2025 graduation ceremony held at the UNY Sports Hall (GOR) on Tuesday (23/12/2025), Betran was crowned the undergraduate graduate with the highest cumulative GPA (3.98) at UNY.
