Garuda UNY achievements in developing fuel-efficient vehicles at Shell Eco-marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2024

UNY actively encourages the development of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient vehicles. One way to objectively measure the value of these innovations is through participation in various competitions. One of the competitions is Shell Eco-Marathon. UNY has consistently participated in this competition since 2018. 
 

Food processing innovation: biscuit made of tempe

To strengthen food security, UNY encourages various innovative efforts in processing various alternative food ingredients. Five UNY students consisting of Siti Nursipa Wulida (Culinary Education); Nur Evirda Khosyiati (Culinary Education); Rifki Refiyandi (Elementary School Teacher Education); Putri A. Panggabean (Accounting); and Syifaun Nuha A (Management) successfully developed tempe-based biscuits for toddlers named Bistbox.
 

Strengthening the capacity of expertise in tropical biology through FMN OCELOTS

Rio Christy Handziko, S.Pd.Si., M.Pd, a lecturer at the Department of Biology Education of UNY, participated in the Faculty Mentoring Network - Online Content for Experiential Learning of Tropical Systems (FMN - OCELOTS) 2024. Rio Christy has been teaching courses related to tropical ecology and researching intensively in the field of Tropical Ecology.

Marine Conservation through Data: Coral and Fish Research in Bangsring, East Java

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, offers students chances to participate in MBKM activities, including the 2023 innovative research program. One of the student teams taking part in the 2023 MBKM innovative research activity is a Biology Education Department team made up of three students and one of their teachers.

Improving Children's Intelligence and Literacy Skills by reading aloud

"The fact is that learning to read is a complex process and does not happen by itself. Preventing Early-Age Marriage with Funarri Application

The UNY student team consisting of Farah Nabila Nur Afifah (Educational Technology), Anggi Anggreini (Educational Technology), Dinda Rahmawati (Guidance and Counseling) and Nandini Rohmi (Mathematics Education) have successfully developed Fun Augmented Reality Early-Age Merried based on Augmented Reality (Funarri).

Karimun Jawa’s Natural Laboratory: A Marine Biology Field Study Journey for UNY Students

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta's Department of Biology Education offers a course named Marine Biology. Students enrolled in the biology study program must take this course. This subject is taught in two ways: theoretically and through practicums in the lab and in the field. This activity is done out in the national park's waterways as part of the practicum activities.

Industrial Practice Cooperation between UNY and RS PKU Muhammadiyah Jatinom

A total of 4 (four) UNY students carried out Industrial Practices and assisted in supervision during the construction of the inpatient installation building at PKU Muhammadiyah Jatinom Hospital. This collaboration is a form of UNY's support for the construction of health facilities that meet the technical standards of building quality in hospitals. For UNY students, this activity will provide practical experience and specialized experience in civil engineering.
 

VIRCON LEARNING SYSTEM TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government encouraged the implementation of online learning at schools and higher education. Online learning is quite effective in preventing the spread of Covid-19, but this distance learning model is less effective and poorly affects the quality of education.

REDUCING GADGETS ADDICTION THROUGH TRADITIONAL GAMES

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed children to gadgets such as computers, laptops, and cellphones more intensely due to distance learning. Gadgets for learning are also followed by the increasing use of gadgets for social media and online games that trigger gadget addiction. To reduce this problem, UNY students consisting of Dwi Agnes Setianingrum, Dian Anggraini and Akhip Nugroho (science education), Furi Ningsih Sri Sukowati (physics education), and Aerafatma Ahyaun Nisa (elementary school teacher education) initiated the development of a traditional game.
