Enhancing Educator Competence, PKM Team Organizes Scientific Writing Workshop Based on AI and Strengthening the Independent Curriculum

As part of the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) through the Community Service Program (Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM), a team of lecturers and students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a competency development workshop for educators. The activity was held at SMA Islam Al-Azhar 9 Yogyakarta and was attended by teachers from various educational levels who gathered to strengthen pedagogical skills and continuous professional development in the education sector.

Maestro-Evo UNY Demonstrates National Robotics Capability, Wins Second Place and Best Strategy at KRAI 2026

The Maestro-Evo Robotics Team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has once again demonstrated its position as one of Indonesia’s leading student robotics teams. In the 2026 National Indonesian ABU Robot Contest (Kontes Robot ABU Indonesia/KRAI) held at the University of Jember on July 9–12, 2026, the team successfully achieved Second Place at the National Level and received the Best Strategy Award for implementing the most effective competition strategy.

UNY and BTN Strengthen Synergy, 104 Students Receive Scholarships

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) have strengthened their commitment to supporting the improvement of human resource quality through the awarding of scholarships to 104 UNY students. UNY Faculty of Medicine Encourages Older Adults to Prevent Sarcopenia Through Community Service

The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a Community Service Program (PkM) aimed at adults aged 60 years and above to raise awareness of sarcopenia—the age-related loss of muscle mass, strength, and function. The program combined health education, medical examinations, and research data collection to improve the quality of life of older adults while contributing to scientific knowledge on muscle health.

UNY Students Develop a Low-Smoke Incinerator to Help Kecemen Village Manage Waste More Sustainably

The long-standing problem of open waste burning in Kecemen Village, Manisrenggo District, Klaten Regency, has found a practical solution through an innovation developed by students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). As part of the 2026 Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK UNY Mengabdi), a team of students designed and donated a Low-Smoke Waste Incinerator, an appropriate technology that enables the community to manage household waste in a safer, healthier, and more environmentally friendly manner.

UNY Students Promote Clean and Healthy Living Habits and Safe Pesticide Use in Kendal Hamlet

Students of the 2024 Accounting Education Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), organized a community outreach program on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and the safe use of pesticides in Kendal Hamlet, Bangunkerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency. UNY PLK Students Develop Gallon Catfish Farming and “Clean Orphanage” Initiative at Al Lathiif Orphanage

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) carried out a community empowerment project at Al Lathiif Orphanage by introducing catfish farming using recycled water gallons and launching a “Clean Orphanage” campaign. Learning Community Resilience through a Visit to the Merapi Museum and Lava Tour

As part of the Short Course Program between Western Sydney University (WSU) and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), participants took part in an educational visit to the Merapi Volcano Museum and a Lava Tour in the Mount Merapi area. The activity served as a follow-up to the morning workshop titled “(Poly)Crisis in Indonesia: Understanding the Yogyakarta Paradox: Socio-Economic Dynamics, Happiness, and Mental Health” and provided participants with a deeper understanding of how communities adapt and build resilience in the face of natural disasters.
