UNY PLK Mengabdi 2026 Students Hold Fun Walk and Mass Exercise to Promote Healthy Living in Dukuh Dengok

Students of the UNY PLK Mengabdi 2026 Program, in collaboration with the youth organization of Dukuh Dengok, Tanjungharjo Village, Nanggulan District, Kulon Progo Regency, successfully organized a fun walk and mass exercise event attended by hundreds of local residents. The activity was held recently as part of the students’ community service program aimed at promoting healthy living while strengthening solidarity among community members.

Improve Early Preparedness, UNY PLK Students Conduct Disaster Education Program with Sleman Fire Department

Raising awareness of disaster mitigation from an early age has become a key concern for students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK). Through a disaster preparedness education initiative conducted in collaboration with the Sleman Fire and Rescue Department, members of the Gatak Abhyudaya student team introduced elementary school students to fire hazards and appropriate emergency response procedures. The activity was recently held at SD Negeri Cancangan, Sleman.

SAKAT Action: A Tangible Contribution of Students to Strengthening Food Security among Boarding-House Communities

A group of active students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) launched the SAKAT (Satu Kamar Satu Tanaman / One Room, One Plant) initiative. SAKAT is a campaign encouraging each boarding-house room to grow at least one plant, targeting five student boarding houses and involving more than ten rooms and their residents.

UNY Students Develop Tiger Snail Shell-Based Nano-Hydroxyapatite Gel to Prevent Dental Caries

Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have developed an innovative dental health biomaterial in the form of a nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HAp) gel derived from tiger snail shells and combined with natural biopolymers from Ajwa dates, miswak, and propolis. The innovation is designed as an enamel remineralization agent while also serving as an antibacterial treatment against bacteria that cause dental caries.

Preventing Air Pollution, UNY Conducts Motor Vehicle Emissions Testing

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted emissions testing for private and official vehicles at the Rectorate courtyard on Tuesday (May 26, 2026). According to the Head of Infrastructure, Facilities, and Household Affairs of UNY, Indun Probo Utami, M.Pd., the purpose of this emissions test was to comply with the requirements of Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management.
