Contributing to the Creation of a Healthy Lifestyle Culture, UNY FIKK Lecturer Trains Dozens of Madrasah Teachers in Sleman

The presence of academics in improving the quality of human resources within society has once again been demonstrated through the dedication of lecturers from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). On Monday, May 18, 2026, Dr. Ranintya Meikahani, M.Pd., a lecturer from the Department of Elementary School Physical Education, Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK) at UNY, participated as a speaker in the Third Batch Sports Personnel Training Program. Held at Prima SR Hotel & Convention, her expertise was directly shared with 43 teachers from RA, MI, and MTs educational levels across Sleman Regency.
The involvement of this UNY expert was a proactive response to a collaborative invitation from the Sleman Regency Youth and Sports Office (Dispora). Addressing the theme “Improving Community Fitness through Physical Activity and Sports,” Dr. Ranintya emphasized the importance of positioning schools as the primary foundation for cultivating an active lifestyle culture. Before dozens of educators, she highlighted effective strategies to make sports not merely a routine activity, but a healthy lifestyle that must be instilled from an early age so that it can grow into a positive habit within the wider community.
The knowledge transfer facilitated by Dr. Ranintya was not limited to theoretical delivery alone. She brought the training sessions to life through a dynamic approach, ranging from interactive discussions to highly practical physical activity exercises that teachers could immediately implement in their respective schools.
This hands-on involvement of FIKK UNY lecturers represents a tangible manifestation of strategic synergy between higher education institutions and local government. This academic collaboration aligns with the vision of the Head of the Sleman Youth and Sports Office to foster progressive, well-rounded, and competitive youth through the enhancement of sports-related human resources. Furthermore, the active contribution of UNY’s academic community in this training program directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all members of society.
