UNY PLK Mengabdi 2026 Students Hold Fun Walk and Mass Exercise to Promote Healthy Living in Dukuh Dengok

Students of the UNY PLK Mengabdi 2026 Program, in collaboration with the youth organization of Dukuh Dengok, Tanjungharjo Village, Nanggulan District, Kulon Progo Regency, successfully organized a fun walk and mass exercise event attended by hundreds of local residents. The activity was held recently as part of the students’ community service program aimed at promoting healthy living while strengthening solidarity among community members.

The event reflected the students’ commitment to creating community-based programs that directly respond to local needs. By combining physical activity with social interaction, the initiative encouraged residents of all ages to adopt healthier lifestyles while also fostering a stronger sense of togetherness in the village.

The program was carried out in a festive and participatory atmosphere, with enthusiastic involvement from the local community. Residents joined the fun walk and mass exercise session as a shared effort to maintain physical well-being and build closer connections among neighbors. The collaboration between the PLK UNY Mengabdi team and the local youth organization also demonstrated the importance of partnership in implementing impactful community service activities.

More than a recreational event, the activity served as a platform for strengthening community engagement and collective awareness of healthy living. Through simple but meaningful programs such as this, the students sought to create a positive social space where health promotion and social cohesion could go hand in hand.

Through this initiative, the PLK UNY Mengabdi 2026 team contributed not only to promoting public health, but also to reinforcing collaboration between university students and the local community. The program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
