Five UNY students developed an innovation in oral health care through the Student Creativity Entrepreneurship Programme (PKM-K) 2025. The product, called Covatab, is a tooth-cleanser tablet made from coconut-shell charcoal and rice-husk silica, free from sulfates, effective in removing plaque, safe for use, and environmentally friendly.

The spirit and curiosity coloured an environmentally-friendly agriculture training organised by students of the Community Service Programme (KKN) of UNY. Equipped with knowledge and concern for the environment, the students educated residents of Dadapan, Sidoluhur, Godean, Sleman to produce liquid fertiliser and natural pesticide from simple materials around their homes.

Sexual violence against young children is becoming an increasingly serious concern. In response to this challenge, a group of UNY students developed an educational innovation in the form of a sexuality-learning game application called “Do and Don’t”. The innovation is designed to instil an important understanding of body boundaries and preventive actions against sexual violence starting from elementary-school ages.

UNY and UGM have entered into a strategic collaboration via a community‐service programme titled “Utilisation of Local Medicinal Plants as Natural Antiseptics.” The programme targets residents of the village of Desa Girirejo, Kecamatan Imogiri, Bantul, as a form of empowerment based on local potential and to raise awareness about environmental sanitation. Recognizing that a healthy and safe work environment is essential for productivity and well-being, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has taken a significant step by establishing an Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Team. Officially formed under Rector’s Decree No. 6.2/UN34/I/2025, this team is entrusted with planning, executing, and evaluating all safety and health-related initiatives at UNY.

UNY student team continues to promote healthy food products with many benefits.

A total of 135 participants consisting of lecturers and education staff of UNY participated in the 5.9K run in order to enliven UNY's 59th Anniversary. This race exceeded the target of the committee which targeted 100 participants. The race was held in the rectorate yard near the Kembara statue recently.
