To enhance students' sustainability literacy and knowledge, UNY has a soft skills program that directly contributes to strengthening sustainability competencies by shaping students' character, ethics, collaboration skills, and social awareness. These competencies form the foundation for the implementation of sustainability practices, particularly in social aspects such as inclusion, justice, and community engagement. This program is equipped with assessment instruments, although not always in the form of a single standard test such as the Sulitest; instead, it tends to apply a program evaluation model and activity-based assessments. UNY also uses its Learning Management System, BeSmart, as both a learning platform and an assessment tool to evaluate students’ sustainability literacy and knowledge. Based on the available assessment data, 1,149 students took the test, of whom only 178 students did not pass, indicating that approximately 84.5% of students passed the literacy test

UNY has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability thru structured and sustainable training programs within the framework of a Green Campus. In accordance with the Peraturan Rektor UNY Nomor 16 Tahun 2021, which concerning the Green Campus, which serves as the basis for environmental sustainability policies at UNY. The implementation of the policy is carried out regularly thru workshops, academic programs, and community service involving lecturers and students. For example, Since 2021 until 2025, UNY has consistently implemented a program for applying Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles as part of the institution's commitment to creating a safe and sustainable work environment. These activities are carried out regularly thru socialization, training, and preparedness simulations involving the academic community. Thru this, UNY ensures the creation of an integrated safety culture in campus activities, while also supporting sustainability principles in the protection of humans and the environment. In addition, SDG-based training is also conducted thru community service activities, such as training in the production of natural pesticides and sustainable farming practices. This is done as an effort to enhance the competence of lecturers and students in improving their knowledge and skills regarding sustainability, while also providing direct practice in the community to create a sustainable impact.

Our university provides training based on these values at all levels of the organization, ensuring that members of the academic community, including students, academic staff, administrative personnel, and university leadership, are equipped with the awareness, understanding, and capacity to uphold the principles of equality, diversity, inclusion, anti-discrimination, and anti-harassment across the campus environment.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has established formal policies on anti-gratification as part of its anti-bribery and anti-corruption framework. These are stipulated in Rector Regulation Number 31 of 2025 and Rector Regulation Number 30 of 2025 concerning Gratification. The regulations serve as institutional guidelines to prevent, identify, and manage gratuities, thereby promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity across the university.
