Students from the Office Administration Education Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) initiated the "Maggot Circular Action" program as an effort to manage organic waste through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots. The program was carried out in Duwet 1 Hamlet, Kalibawang, Kulon Progo, as a community engagement initiative supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Recently, students from the History Education Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), carried out an activity titled “Baros Beach Green Action: Mangrove Planting and Beach Cleanup” as a form of support for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity took place at the Baros Mangrove Conservation Area, Baros Beach, Bantul, focusing on coastal environmental preservation through mangrove planting and beach cleanup efforts.

The creativity of students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) has once again been demonstrated through a simple yet impactful innovation. A PLK team in Menden Village, Kebonarum District, Klaten Regency successfully transformed shallot peel waste into environmentally friendly liquid organic fertilizer (POC) with practical value for the local community.

A group of students receiving the Bintang Mandiri Scholarship initiated a social project focused on mangrove conservation titled “Green Coast Baros” in the Baros Mangrove Forest area, located in Tirtohargo, Kretek, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The initiative was carried out by awardees of the 5th cohort of the Bintang Mandiri Scholarship from Bank Mandiri, as part of their contribution to preserving coastal ecosystems while also empowering local communities.

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Humanitarian Community Service Program (KKN) carried out an environmental restoration initiative by planting 60 pucuk merah (Syzygium oleina) saplings in Seuneubok Village, Bendahara District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

The activity was conducted as part of post-flood recovery efforts in the area, where environmental damage had affected vegetation and residential surroundings. The tree-planting initiative also followed directives from the village leadership to support greening and ecological restoration programs.

Students participating in the Humanitarian Community Service Program (KKN Kemanusiaan) from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) carried out a greening initiative in Seuneubok Aceh by planting 60 pucuk merah plants together with local residents. The activity was part of environmental recovery efforts following the floods that previously affected several areas in Aceh Tamiang.

Residents of Seuneubok in Aceh are taking meaningful steps toward recovery by planting trees on land affected by disaster. The initiative involves students participating in the Humanitarian Community Service Program (KKN Kemanusiaan) from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta who work together with the local community to restore damaged land and rebuild environmental sustainability.

Students from the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata, KKN) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) carried out a community empowerment activity by conducting training to make eco-friendly plant pots from coconut husks in Padukuhan Potrowangsan, Tirtorahayu, Galur, Kulonprogo. The program aimed to increase local awareness about using organic waste, stimulate creativity, and open local economic opportunities based on available natural potential.

Students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a training session on making eco enzyme for the local community in Punukan Hamlet, Wates, Kulonprogo Regency. The activity focused on teaching residents how to turn organic household waste into eco enzyme, a natural and environmentally friendly product with many practical uses.

The KKNM 25219 Punukan team consisted of several students who actively guided villagers through the process of preparing eco enzyme using simple materials commonly found around the home.

Students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN-M) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta carried out a community empowerment program by introducing natural insecticide incense and botanical pesticides in Padukuhan Sembung, Purwobinangun Village, Pakem District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The program aimed to offer environmentally friendly solutions for insect and crop pest control using local natural materials.
