Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through its Community Service Program (PLK), continues to support the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). One such initiative was carried out in Pulewulung, Bangunkerto, Sleman where students provided assistance to local business owners in obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Halal Certification. The program aims to help local entrepreneurs improve business legality, expand market access, and enhance competitiveness.

UNY Students Develop Tiger Snail Shell-Based Nano-Hydroxyapatite Gel to Prevent Dental Caries

Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have developed an innovative dental health biomaterial in the form of a nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HAp) gel derived from tiger snail shells and combined with natural biopolymers from Ajwa dates, miswak, and propolis. The innovation is designed as an enamel remineralization agent while also serving as an antibacterial treatment against bacteria that cause dental caries.

PGSD UNY Students Turn Used Cooking Oil into Candles, Supporting SDGs 8, 9, and 17

Students of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta recently conducted a field-study implementation activity by transforming used cooking oil into candles at Khodijah Sinar Melati Orphanage. The activity involved 17 orphanage residents aged between 12 and 15 years, ranging from Grade 5 elementary school students to Grade 8 junior high school students.

Students participating in the Pembelajaran Luar Kampus (PLK) program from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) carried out a digital rebranding initiative for Usama Mikro, Kecil, Menengah (UMKM) in Duwet Hamlet, Banjarharjo, Kalibawang, Kulon Progo. The main focus of this activity was to assist in developing brand identity and digital marketing for the local rengginang business branded “Leo.”
