UNY Opens Registration for International Undergraduate Program 2026 — Preparing Globally Competitive Graduates
Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially opened registration for its International Undergraduate Program (IUP) for the 2026/2027 academic year as a flagship program designed to offer international-standard learning experiences through English-medium instruction and global academic exposure.
The program gives students the opportunity to engage in activities beyond the classroom, such as: student exchange short courses/summer programs visiting lecturers from abroad international internships research collaboration and participation in international conferences so that students are not only learning in the lecture hall but also immersed in a global academic ecosystem.
Registration for the IUP at UNY is conducted online from 19 January to 7 April 2026, with the selection process consisting of a Computer Based Test (CBT) and online interview — all designed to be flexible so applicants from both Indonesia and overseas can participate.
According to the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro, the IUP is a strategic program to meet global challenges in higher education. He says the program encourages students to develop academic excellence, English proficiency, and real global experience. The IUP also aligns with UNY’s vision to be a world-class education university that is excellent, creative, and sustainably innovative.
The IUP is offered in several study areas, including: English Language Education Public Administration Chemistry Education Information Technology Sport Science Management Accounting Each program accepts 20 students per class to ensure a more intensive and interactive learning environment.
UNY also collaborates with reputable international partner universities in Australia, the United States, Europe, Asia, and other regions, providing opportunities for students to experience global academic environments, joint research, and mobility.
The IUP is open to high school/senior secondary graduates from 2024–2026, with a maximum age of 23. Applicants must meet academic requirements and demonstrate English language proficiency with official test scores (such as TOEFL, IELTS, or ProTEFL UNY).
