UNY Hosts Socialization of LPDP Co-Funding Scholarship Policy and Programs for 2026

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) hosted the Socialization of the LPDP Co-Funding Scholarship Policy and Programs for 2026 and Strengthening Cooperation at the Sugeng Mardiyono Building, UNY Graduate School. This event served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen synergy between universities and the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) — Indonesia’s Education Fund Management Agency — in developing national superior talent.

The event featured Agam Bayu Suryanto, Head of the Scholarship Cooperation and Development Division at LPDP, who presented the 2026 LPDP scholarship policy direction, highlighting integration with strategic industry needs and the national research agenda. In his presentation, he explained that the 2026 LPDP scholarship scheme places a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and STEM-related fields with a minimum of 80 % allocation, while non-STEM fields in the SHARE (Social, Humanities, Arts, and Education) scheme are allocated up to 20 %.

In welcoming remarks, Prof. Iis Prasetyo, Secretary of the UNY Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, emphasized UNY’s commitment to increasing the quality and competitiveness of graduates by providing access to global scholarship opportunities. He expressed appreciation to LPDP for trusting UNY as a strategic partner in scholarship socialization and encouraged UNY students and alumni to take advantage of these opportunities to pursue education at top global universities and expand international networks.

The LPDP Co-Funding Scholarship program is a joint funding scheme between LPDP and various partners including governments of friendly nations, universities, and industries. In the first phase for 2026, several partnership programs opened include collaborations with institutions such as Netherlands programs, National University of Singapore (NUS), Tsinghua University, University of Dundee, University of New South Wales (UNSW), and UST Korea. The scheme also allows applicants to apply to both the Co-Funding partnership and other LPDP regular programs simultaneously through a “bundling scheme”.

LPDP has also implemented affirmative policies, allocating a minimum of 25 % for groups such as people with disabilities, economically underprivileged individuals, those from 3T regions (frontier, outer, disadvantaged areas), Papua, and world-class athletes, as well as 20 % for civil servants (PNS), military (TNI), and police (Polri). The study proportion target is 55 % domestic to 45 % international, with a 2:1 ratio between master’s and doctoral programs.

Through this forum, UNY and LPDP not only strengthened technical coordination but also aligned visions to build an ecosystem of adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive talent that contributes to national development. The spirit of LPDP’s #MenenunMimpi (Weaving Dreams) resonates with UNY’s vision of producing excellent educators and professionals who can have a real impact on national development.
