UNY Hosts Pra-Konaspi XII 2026

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) served as the host for the Pra-Kongres Nasional Pendidikan Indonesia (Pra-Konaspi) XII in 2026, attended by 12 state educational teacher training institutions (LPTK). The event was held from Friday to Sunday, January 23–25, 2026 on the UNY campus in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Pra-Konaspi is a strategic meeting organized by the Forum Rektor LPTKNI (Forum of Rectors of State Teacher Education Institutions). It acts as an early step leading up to Konaspi XII 2026 and serves as a platform for LPTK leaders to align agendas, develop key policy ideas, and agree on strategic directions in national education, especially in teacher and educational workforce development.
Leaders from 12 universities participated, including institutions such as Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Negeri Malang, and others, with UNY as host.
In his welcome speech, UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto appreciated the trust placed in UNY and emphasized the university’s commitment to strengthening LPTKs’ role in addressing national and global education challenges.
The Chairman of the LPTKNI Forum, Prof. I Wayan Lasmawan (also Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha), highlighted that the Pra-Konaspi is important for building shared visions and cooperation among institutions. He also noted that the main Konaspi XII event will take place October 2–4, 2026 in Nusa Dua, Bali, and will include more universities (including non-LPTKs).
Aside from discussions, Pra-Konaspi XII included activities to strengthen camaraderie such as friendly sports (table tennis, golf, tennis) and cultural and educational programs for accompanying groups, fostering networking among university leaders and families.
The event aims to produce strategic recommendations and serve as a foundation for a successful Konaspi XII, contributing to the advancement of quality, creative, and innovative education in Indonesia.
