UNY Strengthens Development of Student Achievements; Quality of Accomplishments Strengthens Throughout 2025

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to reaffirm its commitment to building a culture of excellence by strengthening planned and sustainable student achievement development. Throughout 2025, UNY students achieved various achievements in a range of national competitions under the guidance of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
To support this commitment, UNY recently held the 2025 Student Achievement Development Evaluation event in the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate.
UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto expressed his appreciation to all students, supervising lecturers, faculties, and units that have actively contributed to enhancing UNY’s reputation at the national level. He emphasized that student achievement is not only about winning awards, but also reflects a healthy academic culture, hard work, and strong collaboration. UNY is committed to creating an ecosystem that fosters talented, innovative, and character-driven students.
Prof. Sumaryanto underscored that the achievements of 2025 should be seen as a strategic asset to strengthen the institution’s competitiveness. He said UNY does not focus merely on the number of awards but also on the quality of the development process with long-term impact on student growth. In the future, achievement development will be increasingly integrated with classroom learning, research, and community service, so students are ready to compete and contribute to the nation.
Throughout 2025, UNY students participated in and won recognition in various competitions, including the Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM), Energy-Efficient Car Contest (KMHE), National Student Sports Week (POMNAS), SEA Games, and several other competitions. Their active participation demonstrates a strong spirit of achievement and innovation among UNY students.
Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Guntur, noted that while the number of achievements fluctuated due to changes in competition regulations and national schedules, the quality of UNY students’ achievements strengthened, as seen in the increased number of first-place wins and consistent advancement to national levels.
As a form of appreciation, UNY awarded recognition to institutions and individuals — including students, educational staff, alumni, and lecturers — who made significant contributions to achievements throughout 2025. These awards are intended to motivate and reinforce a culture of excellence within UNY.
UNY reaffirms its commitment to continuously strengthen an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable achievement development system in line with the demands of 21st-century competencies and the national education development agenda.
