Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Holds Graduation and Inauguration of Professional Engineer Program

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted a graduation and inauguration ceremony for students of the Professional Engineer Program on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The event took place at the Directorate of Professional and Competency Education (DPPK) building and was attended by university leaders, faculty members, and participants who had successfully completed the entire engineering professional education program.

A total of 14 participants were declared graduates in this ceremony after undergoing various educational stages designed to produce competent and competitive professional engineers.

In his speech, UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto expressed appreciation to the students who had successfully completed the program and earned the title of Engineer. He encouraged collaboration with these new engineers, stating that UNY would optimize building development until 2028. The Rector also invited the engineers to pursue further studies at the master's or doctoral levels, as UNY requires capable lecturers like them.

The UNY Professional Engineer Program is one of the flagship programs that has been accredited, focusing on equipping students with technical competencies, managerial skills, and professional ethics. Throughout the program, participants are guided by experienced faculty members and practitioners and are given opportunities to apply their knowledge in the field through practical work and real projects.

This graduation ceremony involved 14 students from batches 12 and 13, consisting of 7 regular program students and 7 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program students.

One of the graduates, Totok Widiyanto, expressed gratitude and thanks to all parties who supported his educational process. He stated, "This program has provided me with valuable experience to be more prepared to face challenges, especially in the engineering field, as the engineering profession is highly needed in the future."
