The Role of Statistics in Demonstrating the Effectiveness of Zine Therapy in Inclusive Schools

A team of students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has successfully secured funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology's Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) for their research titled “Zine Therapy: A Multimodal Art Therapy Strategy for Emotional Regulation of Students in Inclusive Schools at SD Pedagogia Labschool FIPP UNY.” This research, conducted over approximately four months from July 7 to November 4, 2025, aims to address emotional regulation challenges among students in inclusive education settings.

The team comprises Rizki Amalia Putri Hidayat (Indonesian Literature), Najwa Dinara Aprilia (Art Education), Aditia Firmansyah (Psychology), Nabila Laili Sabillah (Indonesian Language and Literature Education), and Siti Zaniah Nur Hidayah (Statistics), under the guidance of Haryanto, S.S., M.A.

Zine Therapy employs creative activities such as drawing, coloring, writing, and assembling puzzles to help students express themselves, enhance concentration, build self-confidence, and foster a calm learning environment.

Siti Zaniah Nur Hidayah emphasized the crucial role of the Statistics program in analyzing the data collected from these therapeutic sessions. By processing both quantitative and qualitative data, statistical analysis produces graphs and success percentages, providing scientific evidence of the therapy's effectiveness beyond emotional benefits.

This approach ensures that Zine Therapy is not only beneficial in practice but also demonstrably effective through rigorous data analysis.
