A total of 119 students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) were officially welcomed by the Government of Kebumen Regency for the Community Service Program (KKN). The reception ceremony took place at the Pendopo of Kebumen Regency on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, and was attended by Kebumen government officials, district heads, village heads from the KKN placement areas, and UNY representatives.

He stated, “We warmly welcome the arrival of UNY KKN students in the Mirit and Ambal Districts with joy.” He emphasized that the students bring youthful spirit, knowledge, and ideas, and are welcomed as a new family who will live, learn, and grow with the Kebumen community, where academic knowledge meets local wisdom in an integrated manner.

The Head of the UNY KKN, Community Service, Internship, and Magang Unit, Dr. Banu Setyo Adi, conveyed that the KKN program serves as a platform for students to apply their knowledge directly within the community. “The number of students participating in the KKN in Kebumen is 119, consisting of students from the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and Faculty of Sports and Health,” he explained.

The KKN activities are located in the Ambal and Mirit Districts, with student groups placed in various villages, including Banjarsari, Kenoyojayan, Pasar Senen, Lembupurwo, and Ngabean. Through a community empowerment approach, students are expected to integrate with the community, assist in the programs of the Kebumen Regency, as well as district and village programs implemented at the hamlet level.
