To ease the burden on students during the current Covid-19 crisis, Kompas Group, in collaboration with Foodbank Of Indonesia (FOI), assisted in the form of 600 packages for Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students. The aid packages provided were rice, instant noodles, eggs, and fish in cans. The handover ceremony itself took place in the UNY rectorate meeting room.

The Rector of UNY expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Kompas Group for this initiative. Previously, UNY provided students basic food packages, which lecturers, employees, and students collected.

"Many students are unable to return to their hometowns. But they also have to incur large living expenses during the Covid-19 pandemic, even though the campus has provided free internet facilities for students during the online lecture process," said Sutrisna. "UNY does not see the amount of assistance provided by the Kompas Group but sees how this assistance can foster student enthusiasm to survive in times like this," added Sutrisna.

"The Kompas Humanitarian Fund results from donations from loyal readers of Kompas daily and donors spread across the country. The goal is to help the underprivileged. Hopefully, during the current Covid-19 crisis, the humanitarian fund can help the community and students from an economic point of view," said a representative from the Kompas Group.
