A total of 22 international students who received the KNB (Developing Country Partnership) scholarship who studied in various study programs at PPs UNY held a study visit to Glintung Village, located in Malang Regency. This study visit aimed to provide international students with knowledge outside the campus. Glintung Village is an urban village located in Purwantoro Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, East Java. Glintung is a community unit area (RW) that consists of 1,086 people with 302 families.

Previously, Glintung was a slum area and was prone to flooding, which made the head of RW Bambang Irianto concerned and thought of finding a solution. According to his observations, the first thing that the Glintung village community must do is change the perspective of its citizens from being individualists to being collective, working together, and prioritizing deliberation. But now it looks cool green by the many plants. The area is now known as Kampung Glintung Go Green. For the past five years, water-saving activities carried out by the community of RW 23, Purwantoro Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, East Java have produced positive results. The springs in the residents' wells are maintained.

This positive impact is not only enjoyed by residents of RW 23. Now, residents of RW 5, which is located adjacent to RW 23, are also starting to feel the presence of new water sources due to efforts to save water by using injection wells and biopori.

By developing a green hydroponic system in every resident's house and making water banking, Glintung village is free from flooding problems every year. This village has won various awards at home and abroad and has even become a pilot village in various regions. As the head of the RW and the Glintung Go Green program driver, Bambang hopes that the residents of Glintung village will not lose their enthusiasm to continue learning and develop their village into the best village.
