Sahabatambak Mobile App Helps Fish Farmers

Fish farming farmers in the Sleman area experience problems in the absence of a temperature monitoring system, pH, and oxygen levels in the pond water. The handling is often too late. Temperature, oxygen levels, and water pH are essential components that can affect fish mortality. These components are also very influential on the quality and yield of partners.

UNY students (Muhlisun Nur Hidayah and Rifky Ari Yunanto (Informatics Engineering Education Department), Ardi Jati Nugroho Putro (Mechanical Engineering Education Department), Yuliari Suprihatin (Chemistry Department), and Intan Diah Kusuma (Culinary Education Department)) designed a technological innovation to overcome the problem using Smart Pond Management System under "Sahabatambak."

"Sahabatambak" has two instruments, Ship and Application. The ship serves to get data on the pond condition. The applications help to display the results of data analysis and display valuable solutions and information. The hope is that by applying "Sahabatambak," partners can improve the quality and yield of fish so that the turnover can be more maximal. Two "Sahabatambak" application designs are website-based interface design and android-based interface design. The android platform is more interesting because it is widely used and easy to operate, especially for partners.

"Sahabatambak," in the form of a ship made of plates with a DC motor drive, sourced energy from the solar cell. "Sahabatambak" application will process and analyze data obtained from sensors on the ship. Such sensors are DO sensors, temperature sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and pH sensors. The data connection from the sensor with big data contains data from literacy about temperature, oxygen levels, water pH, and proper handling. Big data is connected directly to the Sahabatambak application. They will provide information on handling correctly if the water's temperature, oxygen level, and pH are below or above normal limits. This work succeeded in achieving Dikti funds in the Student Creativity Program in Technology in 2020. (Dedy, ts-Waryati, Alina)
