Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) Semanu Gunungkidul Campus has immediately cooperated with several community organizations around the campus by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UNY and Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School.

Rector, Vice-Rectors, Faculty of Engineering's (FT) Dean, Faculty of Economics's (FE) Dean, Vocational Study Program's Coordinators, Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School, Muhammadiyah Regional  Leaders Gunungkidul, and partners, while still implementing the covid-19 health protocol.

This MoU aims to implement the cooperation for each party by the scope of this MoU. At the same time, the purpose is to mutually support the parties' activities in the cooperation framework related to education, research, community service, and resource development fields.

Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd. (UNY's Rector) said that this project is a triangle unit, Ustadz Abduh (Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Leader) who will build it, Mr. Hadi Sungkowo who will hand over the waqf land to the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Gunungkidul and UNY will be the users."

"UNY's motto is leading in character education. It is superior for character education. UNY can only build a character education laboratory here. As soon as there is an offer to build a character education building, I immediately catch it without thinking twice," added him.

This event collaborates between UNY and Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School to build a character education laboratory for UNY students on the Semanu Gunungkidul campus. In the state of a dormitory that will later educate Muslim students, they have a leadership spirit, entrepreneurial spirit, and have faith and piety.

After signing the MoU between UNY and the Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School and the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Gunungkidul, it was continued by reviewing the location waqf land in the Randukuning, Pacarejo, Semanu, Gunungkidul areas.
