FIK UNY Re-Opens the Swimming Pool When New Normal Coming

UNY, through a series of covid-19 prevention  regulations , stipulates restrictions on academic services and public services. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) temporarily closed several public facilities. However, during this normal period, FIK re-opened them. One of them was the swimming pool officially re-opened on 18 July. Hedi Ardiyanto, as the swimming pool manager, explained that people haven't been afraid to swim in the FIK because such strict regulations have prepared them well.  Added by Hedi, all Pool users will be safe as long as they obey the rules made by the manager.
Of course, several reasons are strong enough to re-open the swimming pool. One of them is that now it has entered a new normal period where people can return to their activities but still comply with the applicable health protocols. Many people want to swim here again both for routine training. Or just for recreation.
"While the pool is closed, the management still routinely clean every afternoon and prepare regulations until they are ready to be used," said Hedi.
Besides that, the head of the Health And Sports Center (HSC), dr. Prijo Sudibjo said that don't worry about swimming because the management has prepared well and is safe from viruses. Illnesses such as cough, runny nose, fever, and body temperature have been checked before using the pool. And, dr. Prijo added that "In this new normal period, people should continue to do physical activities such as exercising for at least 50 minutes to maintain physical fitness."(Khairani Faizah)
