ABIMANYU REPRESENT FBS IN YOUTH FOR CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is a crucial problem that is being faced by the community and must be addressed immediately. Although impossible to stop, this climate change can still be slowed in various ways. Various parties have tried to do this, including the National Council on Climate Change (DNPI), which is part of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia by holding the annual "Youth for Climate Camp" or YFCC. In this environmental educational event, FBS was represented by Sapta Abimanyu, English Language Education student. His essay entitled "Baduy's Culture: A Solution for Environmental Problems" raised the culture of the Baduy tribe, which really maintains the balance of nature. "My essay is actually my previous college assignment. I am happy to have the opportunity to share and discuss my essay in this forum," he said.
"I am very happy to represent FBS in the event. There are many knowledge and experiences that can be implemented in life to maintain environmental stability so that the climate remains friendly to humans," said Abhimanyu, who is also an administrator of the Indonesian Green Youth Coalition (KOPHI). His love for the environment continues to encourage him to take concrete actions related to climate change mitigation. His educational background, which is not closely related to the environment, actually motivates him to continue campaigning for an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
For Abhimanyu, all parties are responsible for the balance of the environment. "I want to start and raise an environmental group at UNY. It's a shame they can't grow because of the lack of attention and experienced resources." Currently, Abhimanyu is actively inviting students, both FBS, UNY, and all students in Yogyakarta, to take part in the "Kali Code Bersih" action. Kudos to Abby! (Zakiyah K/DNA)
