Students from the Fashion Education Study Program (Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Busana) of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) actively participated in the Pra-Konaspi XII event by providing on-site clothing alteration services for participants’ batik shirts, t-shirts, and pants.

The activity was attended by more than 50 delegates from 12 state teacher training institutions (LPTK) across Indonesia.

Leni Firda Kurnia Sari, a student of the Bachelor’s Program in Javanese Language Education at the Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture (FBSB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), has achieved an outstanding cumulative GPA of 3.99 despite facing early doubts about going to university.

Leni’s academic journey did not begin smoothly. After graduating from SMKN 2 Pengasih, Kulonprogo, she stood at a crossroads between working immediately or continuing to university, but financial limitations made higher education feel like a distant dream.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta officially inaugurated three female professors in a formal ceremony held in the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate. Group 10 students of the Marketing Management B Class of 2025, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), conducted an outreach activity themed “Together to Reduce Inequality and Promote Equity” at SMPN 1 Pengasih. Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to demonstrate its commitment to building inclusive and disability-friendly higher education through an international research collaboration with the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, under the project “Disability Rights and In/Equalities in Higher Education.” Two lecturers from UNY’s Department of Special Education, Pujaningsih, Ed.D and Nur Azizah, Ph.D, recently conducted an academic visit to the University of Exeter as part of the project’s implementation.

Ninety students from the German Language Education program (Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted their Final Semester Exam (UAS) in an unconventional, outdoor format at the iconic Prambanan Temple complex on 22 November 2025. A research team from the Department of Sociology Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), in collaboration with KKN group KKNRD028, implemented a program to strengthen political literacy based on GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) in the community of Kanigoro Hamlet, Saptosari, Gunungkidul.

The activity, held at the Kanigoro Hamlet Hall, aims to cultivate an understanding of politics that is equal, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of marginalized groups.

Not every journey to university starts with an easy step. For Dhiva Angger Sakhena, a student from Sukorejo (Tugu, Trenggalek), the path to Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) actually began with a period of waiting and long struggle. After failing his first attempt to enter tertiary education, Dhiva decided to take a gap year. But he didn’t fill that year with sorrow — instead, he dedicated himself socially. He taught English to children in his village — an initiative he designed himself, as a form of responsibility and service to his community.
