Raising awareness of disaster mitigation from an early age has become a key concern for students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK). Through a disaster preparedness education initiative conducted in collaboration with the Sleman Fire and Rescue Department, members of the Gatak Abhyudaya student team introduced elementary school students to fire hazards and appropriate emergency response procedures. The activity was recently held at SD Negeri Cancangan, Sleman.

A team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students under the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK), titled “Swakarya Mengabdi,” carried out a community service initiative in Nglumut Tourism Village, Srumbung District, Magelang Regency, from April to May 2026. The program focused on strengthening the village’s tourism potential through community empowerment, infrastructure improvement, and digitalization.

Nosi Anggana, a student in the Music Education Study Program at the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), has earned Third Place in the Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) at the LLDIKTI Region V level. This achievement marks an important milestone that has advanced her to the selection process for the national level competition.

Students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Community Service Program (PLK Mengabdi) have officially concluded their service period in Somopuro Village, Jogonalan District, Klaten Regency, after carrying out various community empowerment programs over the course of three months. This was demonstrated by Nuri Fitriana, a student of the Craft Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture (FBSB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through her artistic project titled “Umbul Ponggok Klaten Tourism as an Inspiration for the Creation of Hand-Drawn Batik for Women’s Apparel as a Representation of Local Wisdom.”

Lecturers and students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently organized a training program on the production of macramé-based merchandise for members of the PKK women’s group in Juwangen Hamlet, Purwomartani Village, Sleman. The activity aimed to foster a spirit of creative entrepreneurship (creativepreneurship) by developing creative handicraft skills with commercial value and the potential to become home-based businesses.
