UNY KKN Students Develop Tempe Nugget Innovation as a Healthy and Economical Processed Food in Potronanggan Village

Students of the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) from Yogyakarta State University (UNY), placed in Potronanggan Village, Tamanan, Bantul, held a training program on making tempe nuggets as part of their community engagement activities. The training aimed to encourage residents' creativity in processing local food ingredients and help increase family food security. The activity involved local residents, especially the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) women of Potronanggan Village.

Three Schools Participate in Public Test of Komik Watak Kesatria: A Cultural Strategy to Address Youth Problems in Yogyakarta

A research team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), led by Nur Endah Januarti — a Sociology Education lecturer — conducted a public test of Komik Watak Kesatria on October 22 and 28, 2025. The test involved three schools: SMK Negeri 1 Pandak, SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, and SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. The activity is part of a research-harvesting program (“hilirisasi penelitian”) funded by BIMA, under the title “Komik Watak Kesatria: Media Edukasi dan Strategi Kultural Menangani Problematika Remaja.”

UNY Students Hold Outdoor Final Exam at Prambanan Temple with Münster University Faculty

Ninety students from the German Language Education program (Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted their Final Semester Exam (UAS) in an unconventional, outdoor format at the iconic Prambanan Temple complex on 22 November 2025. The exam, for the Regionale Reiseleitung course, was part of a project-based learning initiative which integrates case studies and real-world communication skills beyond the classroom.

Foreign Students in the BIPA Program at UNY and UNNES Learn Metal Craft: Transforming Beads into Ethnic Accessories

A total of 43 foreign students participating in the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) gained a unique cultural experience in a “metal craft” culture class.

The activity was held on Friday, 21 November 2025, in the Metal Craft Laboratory of the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture (FBSB), UNY, where participants learned basic techniques for processing beads into ethnic accessories typical of the Indonesian archipelago.

UNY KKNM-26381 Students Develop “Tilapia Fish Noodles” in Simping Hamlet, Godean — Introducing a Nutrition Innovation and New Economic Opportunity

A group of KKNM-26381 students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), assigned in Dusun Simping, Sidomoyo, Godean, Sleman, successfully introduced a high-nutrient local food innovation: tilapia (nila) fish noodles.

This program is one of the KKN flagship projects because it integrates nutrition education, diversification of fish-based processed foods, and community economic empowerment.

The Bachelor of Applied Marketing Management Study Program of the Faculty of Vocational Studies at UNY carried out a socialisation and real-action programme in the form of training in the making of eco-enzyme and eco-brick at SMP Negeri 1 Pengasih, Kulon Progo, recently.

This activity was attended by 30 students of class VII A of SMP Negeri 1 Pengasih, under the guidance of three UNY Vocational Faculty students. This cross-generational collaboration aims to instil awareness early about the importance of waste management based on the zero-waste principle.

A delegation from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participated in the Asian Academic Society for Vocational Education and Training (AASVET) 2025 and the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, held at Korea University in Korea from 2–8 November 2025.

The forum carried the theme “Advancing Generational Potential: Skills and Partnerships in the Asia Pacific” and served as an international collaboration platform for higher education leaders and academics from around the world.
