Signing of Cooperation Between UNY and BPSDMP Ministry of Transportation

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially signed a cooperation agreement (MoU) with the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation (BPSDMP) under the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. The signing took place at the Theater Room, 3rd Floor, Sugeng Mardiono Building, Graduate School UNY.

This collaboration aims to strengthen synergy in the development of human resources, education, research, and community service between the university and the national transportation sector — supporting efforts to produce competitive and capable graduates.

The event was attended by leaders from BPSDMP (including units focused on land, sea, air, and transportation governance) and UNY academic and administrative representatives, ranging from the rectorate, faculties, graduate schools, to cooperation and internationalization units.

In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Collaboration and Information Systems of UNY, Prof. Soni Nopembri, Ph.D., expressed UNY’s commitment to meaningful cooperation and appreciation for the partnership with BPSDMP. He noted that collaborative activities had already been running prior to formalization — including programs like **PEKERTI training for polytechnic lecturers — and emphasized plans to expand cooperation in advanced study programs, human resource development, collaborative research, and community service initiatives.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ir. Djarot Tri Wardhono, S.T., M.T., Head of BPSDMP Ministry of Transportation, highlighted the importance of the transportation sector as a backbone of the national and international economy and expressed hope that this cooperation will be implemented concretely through faculty exchanges, joint research, curriculum strengthening for industry needs, and lecturer development among BPSDMP’s educational units.

After the signing ceremony, presentations were given on BPSDMP’s organizational profile and programs, and UNY’s potential contributions — covering expertise in science, digital education, journal management, and workforce development — signifying a strategic partnership to support the sustainable development of transportation human resources.
