FEB UNY Students Instill Environmental Awareness at SMP N 2 Manisrenggo

Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), under the Nakula Student Development Program (SDP), recently conducted a community service activity titled “GROW (Green Responsibility for Our World)” at SMP Negeri 2 Manisrenggo, Klaten Regency.
The event, themed “One Tree, One Hope, One Future,” aimed to foster environmental awareness and responsibility among students. It featured a series of activities, including environmental education sessions, group discussions, tree planting, and ecoprint crafting as a medium for promoting Earth conservation.
The session began with an opening speech from the school, followed by remarks from the UNY facilitator and a student representative. Dr. Sutirman, M.Pd., Dean of FEB UNY, expressed appreciation for the students' initiative to integrate sustainable economic values with social action. He emphasized that UNY students not only learn theory but also implement knowledge in activities that positively impact society and the environment.
The program engaged 35 students from SMP Negeri 2 Manisrenggo, encouraging them to think critically and collaboratively to address local environmental issues. Through these hands-on activities, the students developed a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship and the role they can play in preserving nature for future generations.
