ANTI-THEFT WALLET INNOVATION MADE FROM BANANA MIDRIB WASTE

UNY students made a wallet with a security system that will inform the owner when the wallet is more than 10 meters apart from its owner. Uniquely, the wallet is made of banana midrib fiber, given a Javanese letter pattern. They are Asni Muslimah (Clothing Engineering Education), Annisa Nurfatimah Febrianti (Accounting Education), Annisa Alimah Ufairoh (Physical Education), Latifah Nur Khasanah (Chemical Education), and Atiqotul Maula Al Farihah (Sociological Education). According to Asni Muslimah, they made the smart wallet because many people still use conventional wallets.

GREEN TRANSPORTATION INNOVATION WITH INOBIKE UNY

UNY is committed to supporting the development of green technology. One of the results was the UNY Inobike bike. To ensure Inobike reliability in actual use, on January 7, 2021, the Faculty of Engineering UNY, held a mass trial which 100 participants attended. This activity is carried out on a limited basis while still referring to the Covid-19 prevention protocol. Sports Coaching Start-Up Summit 2021 was the launch of 15 sports startups fostered by the Sports Coaching Education Department, Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (PKO FIK UNY), which took place in the Ballroom UNY Hotel.

Yogyakarta, which is famous as a tourist city, is closely related to the word ‘culture’. There is a lot of cultures that can be found there. One of them is batik which has been crowned by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage from Indonesia. Yogyakarta’s typical batik motifs include Parang Rusak Barong, Kawung, Sidomukti, and Wahyu Tumurun. In addition, Yogyakarta is one of the centers of handicrafts in Indonesia.

Boosting MSME Productivity with the UNY Business Incubator

LPPM UNY has long had a Center for Entrepreneurship Development and MSME Assistance Studies, carried out by the Women and Gender Research Center, which focuses on Women SMEs. Since the Women and Gender Research Center collaborates with the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, further serious attempts to develop a business incubator grew more robust in 2012. This unit manages a process of coaching, mentoring, and development provided to prospectus tenants.
