STUDENTS FACE UNY Map EVACUATION ROUTES IN THE DISASTER LIKUIFAKSI

Indonesia's position is located between three major plates of the world and is in the path of the Mediterranean Circum and Pacific Circum, making it prone to earthquakes. Earthquakes can also cause other disasters, such as liquefaction that hit Central Sulawesi in 2018. Moving on from the potential disaster, three Geography Education students of UNY mapped evacuation routes in the context of mitigating liquefaction disasters in the Opak Fault area. This mapping is a Student Creativity Program carried out by Etika Cahyani, Wahyu Nur Afrita, and Annisa Eka Nurul Aza.

When making statements, GIS is a system that acquires, integrates, manipulates, analyzes, and displays data that spatially references the condition of the earth. Etika and his team used GIS to then map the evacuation routes by mapping the spatial network evacuation analysis. From the mapping results, it is known that the direction of liquefaction movement is to the south so that the evacuation route is directed to the north and west. The areas of Bambanglipuro and Bantul are potential places as refugee sites. In Bantul itself, there are Panembahan Senopati Hospital and PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, which can be a place for treating liquefaction victims. (Muhammad Abdul Hadi/JK, DNA)
