Celebrating the 62nd Anniversary, UNY Holds a 4.4 KM Fun and Healthy Walk and Distributes Hundreds of Door Prizes

In celebration of its 62nd Anniversary (Dies Natalis), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta organized a 4.4-kilometer Fun and Healthy Walk involving thousands of participants from the university community and the wider public. The event took place in a festive atmosphere and served as one of the highlights of the anniversary celebrations while promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening solidarity among members of the academic community.

The event began at the UNY Rectorate courtyard, where participants gathered from early morning, filled with enthusiasm. Before the walk started, participants took part in a warm-up exercise session led by instructors to ensure physical readiness throughout the route. University leaders, lecturers, education staff, students, retirees, and invited guests joined the activity, creating a spirit of togetherness and family.

The 4.4 KM route passed through several areas surrounding the UNY campus, allowing participants to enjoy a healthy walk while appreciating the lively atmosphere of the anniversary celebration. Along the route, organizers provided hydration points and medical support to ensure participants’ comfort and safety.

The Rector of UNY, Prof. Sumaryanto, stated that the activity was not merely ceremonial but also represented a momentum to strengthen unity and foster a healthy culture within the academic community.

“This event is a means to strengthen togetherness among the UNY academic community while promoting a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

In addition to the healthy walk, the event became even more exciting with the distribution of hundreds of door prizes for participants. Various attractive prizes ranging from household appliances, electronic items, bicycles, and other gifts added to the enthusiasm of attendees who eagerly awaited the prize announcements after completing the walk.

The event also featured entertainment performances and culinary booths, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for families. Participants were seen enjoying moments together, taking photos, and celebrating the anniversary in a spirit of joy and kinship.

Through this activity, UNY reaffirmed its commitment not only to academic excellence but also to fostering a healthy, collaborative, and harmonious campus environment. The 62nd Dies Natalis celebration is expected to become a momentum for strengthening institutional spirit and encouraging continued contributions to education and society.
