From Sijunjung to UNY: KIP Kuliah Scholarship Helps Rifdah Achieve Her Dream

The journey toward higher education often requires determination and perseverance. This was proven by Rifdah Putri Naldi, a student from the Communication Science program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), who successfully pursued her dream through the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah scholarship.

Rifdah, who comes from Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra, grew up in a modest family. Her father works as a tourism bus driver while her mother supports the family with simple means. Despite the economic challenges, Rifdah remained committed to pursuing higher education and worked hard during her school years.

Before entering university, Rifdah studied at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta, majoring in broadcasting. During her time in vocational school, she actively participated in various competitions related to her field of study. Her achievements and dedication eventually enabled her to pass the national university entrance selection (SNBP) and secure a place at UNY.

Receiving the KIP Kuliah scholarship became a turning point for Rifdah. The financial assistance allowed her to continue her education without burdening her parents. She expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, explaining that the scholarship also helped her overcome difficulties during her early days of university, including when her laptop broke and her family could not immediately afford a replacement.

With the support of the scholarship, Rifdah is determined to maintain strong academic performance and actively participate in campus activities, including competitions and student organizations. She hopes that her journey can inspire other students from similar backgrounds to continue striving for their dreams through education.
