Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) Graduates 1,566 Students, Several Earn Highest GPAs

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held the Graduation Ceremony for the Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Applied Bachelor’s Programs — Period III of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the UNY S A total of 1,566 graduates were officially conferred degrees across all study programs.
This group included: 70 Doctoral graduates, 720 Master’s graduates, 676 Bachelor’s graduates, 100 Applied Bachelor’s graduates. The Faculty of Education had the highest number of graduates, followed by the Faculty of Languages, Arts and Culture, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Female graduates made up 65% of the total, while male graduates were 35%.
Academic achievement was a major highlight of this graduation: 29 graduates earned the summa cum laude distinction (25 from the Doctoral program and 4 from the Master’s program). 931 graduates (about 59.45%) received the cum laude honor.
Doctoral Program: Dr. Erlina Azmi Siregar from the Doctoral Program in Chemical Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, achieved the highest GPA of 4.00 (summa cum laude). Master’s Program: Roro Wilis, M.Pd. from the Master’s Program in History Education, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, also achieved a 4.00 GPA (summa cum laude). Bachelor’s Program: Desi Safitri, S.Pd. from the Bachelor’s in Science Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, earned a 3.95 GPA (cum laude). Applied Bachelor’s Program: Dhenisa Sukmawati, S.Tr.T. from the Culinary Arts (D-IV) Program, Faculty of Vocational Studies, achieved a 3.93 GPA (cum laude).
UNY students also achieved notable success outside academics: During their studies, students earned 364 awards at international, national, and university levels in areas such as reasoning competitions, arts, sports, and special interest activities — boosting UNY’s reputation nationally and internationally.
In his speech, UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto congratulated all graduates and expressed his pride in their accomplishments. He also encouraged graduates of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs who are interested in further study to pursue it, with new registration scheduled to start in August.
The ceremony reiterated UNY’s commitment to producing high-quality, adaptive graduates ready to contribute their knowledge and skills to supporting sustainable, competitive human resources for Indonesia’s development.
