UNY Anti-Poverty Policies

As a higher education institution, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has several policies related to poverty alleviation through the education sector. UNY provides scholarships through various schemes and implementing tiered tuition fees.
Based on data from the 2020 UNY Program Implementation Report, UNY manages 6,348 affirmation students. UNY has 26,997 active students. Thus, the affirmation student ratio is 23.64%, which has exceeded the national target of 20%. This success shows that UNY, as a state-funded university, has seriously supported those with financial difficulties to get access to education.
UNY realizes that the COVID-19 pandemic also impacts everyone. We already has a mechanism for submitting an online tuition fee adjustment to ease the financial burden on students. In addition, UNY also facilitates the provision of internet data assistance packages for students & Lecturers and other assistance for students who are economically affected. For those who have to undergo self-isolation due to COVID-19, UNY also provides financial aid during the recovery period.
UNY accepts international students through the KNB (Partnership of Developing Countries) scholarship scheme as part of a support for students from low or lower-middle-income countries. Through this scheme, students from various developing countries have the opportunity to enjoy a master’s program at UNY.(Lak)
