UNY Sends Students to Japan, Ready to Develop Global Competence

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to enhance its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, UNY dispatched 12 students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Vocational Faculty to participate in an international internship program at Dai Ichi Pan Co., Ltd. in Japan. This initiative marks a significant step in expanding UNY's global network and enhancing students' competencies in the international workforce.
The selected students, primarily from the D4 Culinary Arts program, align with the needs of Dai Ichi Pan, a food processing company. They join 12 other UNY students who commenced their internship at the same company on August 7, 2025. The internship program spans one year and is part of UNY's Diktisaintek Berdampak and internationalization efforts.
Angga Redyantoni Puji Utomo, M.Sc., the supervising lecturer, emphasized that this program not only provides cross-cultural work experience but also cultivates discipline, professionalism, and adaptability in an international work environment.
Prior to departure, all participants underwent intensive training on cultural adaptation and work ethics in Japan, focusing on discipline, work ethos, communication, and adherence to rules. This preparation aims to ensure students can adjust well and gain valuable experiences during their internship.
The internship program is fully funded by Dai Ichi Pan Co., Ltd., reflecting the company's commitment to developing global human resources.
