UNY Stadium General: Raptor Bird

After the success of the 2017 Beach Bird Festival yesterday, UKM-FMIPA UNY Bionic Bird Observer Group held a Stadium General: Raptor Bird event on Friday (2/11) at the Astronomy Laboratory of FMIPA UNY. This activity aims to introduce students and the general public to the meaning of raptors, identify raptors, and distribute raptors in Indonesia and Yogyakarta. This activity is also a preparation for monitoring or observing migratory raptors in the Yogyakarta area.
 
Participants at the Stadium General: Raptor event were 30 people from various agencies, including representatives from the Yogyakarta Agricultural Institute (INTAN), KSB Atma Jaya, UGM Wildlife Study Group, Biolaska UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and KPB Bionic UNY and UNY students. . Alfiana Cahyaningrum opened this activity as the MC, then remarks from Dwi Kurniasari as the chairman of the activity committee. Entering the presentation of the material, Aghnan Pramudihasan, as moderator, introduced two speakers who have been in the world of birding in the Yogyakarta area, especially raptors
 
The first speaker was Asman Adi Purwanto, a member of the Indonesian Raptor (RAIN) and the Asian Raptor Research and Conservation Network (ARRCN). ). He is also the author of a book entitled Field Guide to Birds of Prey in the Conservation Area of ​​the East Java KSDA Center. On this occasion, he gave material about Raptor Birds and Raptor Identification.
 
The second speaker is Rahmadiyono Widodo, a KPB Bionic UNY who is currently the coordinator of the Jogja Bird Observer Association (PBJ). This second speaker has conducted migrant eagle surveys and population surveys for Javan eagles. The material on the Raptor distribution in Yogyakarta was also chosen to be presented at the Stadium General: Raptor event.
 
After an interesting question and answer session with questions posed by the participants, the committee made a quiz with a prize of bird posters by Birdpacker. In addition, Ali Mustofa Saifudin from the Yogyakarta Agricultural Institute and Mega from UNY were entitled to a sign after successfully answering a quiz from the committee.
 
The follow-up of this activity is the observation of raptors held at Bukit Jarum Kaliurang on Sunday (5/11). Participants who have confirmed for this migratory raptor observation event have exceeded the quota, so they are closed for safety and convenience in their activities. The committee provided another option, namely Saturday (4/11), for observing migratory raptors at Watu Goyang Imogiri, Bantul.
