UNY Cooperated with Yogyakarta Regional Police Conducted Mass Vaccination

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Regional Police (Polda DIY), carried out vaccinations for the families of lecturers and education staff UNY students, which took place in the Auditorium, Thursday (2/9) to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

Regional Superintendent Inspector (Irwasda) Polda DIY Kombespol Agus Rohmat, S.I.K, SH., M.Hum said the vaccination activity aimed to achieve herd immunity in the people of Yogyakarta, especially at UNY, both students and families of lecturers and education staff. "The target for the next two days is 3500 doses," said Agus Rohmat. There will be an additional amount if there are still large families of UNY who are not taking the vaccine. Agus also ensured that there would be the second phase of the vaccine, including the additional supply as long as UNY still needed it. According to the Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. Edi Purwanta, in this vaccination, UNY was provided with a place, PPE, IT, and so on. "The vaccination will last for two days," said Edi Purwanta. This vaccine is also crucial for students because it can strengthen the body's immunity against viruses.

The activity-themed 'Vaksin Merdeka' was held for two days. Secretary for vaccination activities Joko Purwoko, M.M., said that UNY invited 600 family members of UNY lecturers and education staff and 3000 students for this activity. He said that the partner (Medical and Health Sector (Biddokkes) Polda DIY) had frequently vaccinated for various institutions by all-in services, including registration, physical and blood pressure checks, screening, vaccination desks, and follow-up table after vaccination, including waste treatment. The vaccine used in this activity is Sinovac.

One of the vaccination participants, Miftah Okta Berlian from the Statistics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, said she had not taken the vaccine yet because she had difficulty registering online. "Because UNY vaccinates its students, I registered here," said Miftah. He hopes to increase his body's resistance to viruses and study offline with this vaccination.
