MIPA Scientist Scientific Study Group (KSI Mist) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FMIPA UNY) implements the Holistic Program of Village Development and Empowerment (PHP2D). PHP2D is the Learning and Student Affairs Directorate, Higher Education Directorate General, Education, and Culture Ministry's annual activity. It provides opportunities for students to foster a sense of care and contribution to the village's community. As a result, the village developed actively, independently, entrepreneurship, and prosperity.

The theme of this activity is "The realization of students who have competitiveness through collaboration in the development of village communities in the Industrial Era 4.0." This activity aligns with the Merdeka Belajar (Learning Independence) Policy initiated by the government for Kampus Merdeka.

The project took place from August - November 2020. The students targeted the Tambakromo Village, Gunungkidul residents. Especially Tambakromo Village Cadets Reef, Klepu Hamlet Cadets Reef, Family Welfare Programme (PKK) member, Art Activists, Cultural Village Companion, and Tourism Community Village Group (POKDARWIS).

PHP2D aims to re-develop Embung Gunung Panggung Tourism with integration with Tambakromo Cultural Village. Some of the activities include Potential Training Attractions by experts from the Tourism Office, the establishment of POKDARWIS management, the tourist attractions management, and publication training, the establishment training, and cooperation cleaning of Embung Gunung Panggung Tourist Attractions.

Hopefully, all components of the Tambakromo Village community can work together to re-awaken Embung Gunung Panggung Tourism again. At the end of this program, the PHP2D UNY team held a Cultural Arts Show at Embung Gunung Panggung to implement Cultural Village along with Embung Gunung Panggung Tourism.

The strategy carried out to achieve the goal is to provide and manage tourist attractions in an integrated manner in the planning, utilization, structuring, and conservation of resources to support the success of this program. Furthermore, the efforts made with coaching for the community and changes in the managers' concept can protect, develop, and utilize regional culture in the potential of tourism objects in Gunungkidul.

Head of Tambakromo Village, Sudigdyo Wiyoko, S.E welcomed this activity. "In this activity, we feel that we can spur the spirit of village youth in reviving Embung Gunung Panggung tourism that had not been managed," he said. (dian/witono, ts-Waryati, Alina)
