UNY Admits 1,834 New Students Through the SNBP Pathway

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has admitted 1,834 new students through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway. The admitted students consist of 1,616 undergraduate (S1) students and 218 applied bachelor (D4) students. They were selected from a total of 30,711 applicants who chose UNY as their destination university.
According to the Head of the 2026 National Student Admission Selection Committee, Eduart Wolok, a total of 806,242 high school students across Indonesia participated in SNBP 2026. These included 509,858 general high school (SMA) students, 190,498 vocational school (SMK) students, 104,786 Islamic senior high school (MA) students, and 1,100 students from other institutions. They competed for 189,017 available seats nationwide.
UNY’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro, congratulated the successful applicants and emphasized the importance of making the most of this opportunity. He also reminded that students who are accepted through the SNBP pathway are not allowed to apply for other admission routes such as UTBK-SNBT or independent selection.
Meanwhile, Head of Admissions Bambang Saptono explained that all admitted students must complete a socio-economic data form to determine their tuition fee category (UKT). This must be filled in online within the specified schedule; otherwise, students will be assigned the highest tuition fee tier.
The UKT payment is scheduled between April 15 and April 29, 2026, through several partner banks using a virtual account system. Students must then complete online registration between April 15 and April 30, 2026.
For applicants who were not admitted through SNBP, opportunities are still available through the UTBK-SNBT pathway and UNY’s independent selection schemes.
In terms of competitiveness, the most selective study program in SNBP 2026 at UNY is the undergraduate Medical Program, with a ratio of 1:78.7. It is followed by the D4 Mechanical Engineering program (1:61.5) and the D4 Electrical Engineering program (1:46.6). Meanwhile, the most popular programs are undergraduate Management (1,851 applicants), Psychology (1,469 applicants), and Accounting (1,268 applicants).
UNY hopes that the newly admitted students will take full advantage of this opportunity to become outstanding, creative, and innovative individuals who contribute to sustainable development.
