On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta officially inaugurated three female professors in a formal ceremony held in the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate. Prof. Dr. Suhartini, M.S. from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences — expert in bioremediation, highlighting science-based, environmental restoration approaches that are effective and eco-friendly. Prof. Dr. Farida Mulyaningsih, M.Kes. from the Faculty of Sports Science and Health — stressed the broad benefits of rhythmic activity learning for physical, mental, and social health, including confidence and teamwork among learners.

In his remarks, Prof. Sumaryanto (UNY Rector) praised the achievement of the new female professors and noted that this addition reflects UNY’s commitment to academic excellence and gender equality.
