UNY Early Childhood Education Laboratory’s Soft Opening

LABORATORIUM PAUD FIP UNY

The Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Department of UNY now has a PAUD Laboratory located east of the Faculty of Education (FIP). The Rector and his staff and Deans from all faculties attended the Soft Opening. The rector, Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd. emphasized that the PAUD Laboratory building is one of 12 Islamic Development Banking (IDB) buildings built throughout UNY. "This building is in FIP, but the entire scope of UNY can use this building," said Sutrisna.

In this Soft Opening event, enlivened with Gamelan from PAUD Students, presenting sinden from Cluster 6 Sokoliman Bejiharjo Village, Karangmojo Gunungkidul. Joko Pamungkas, M.Pd, as the Head of The Early Childhood Education Department, explained the PAUD Lab's vision is to become an excellent, creative, innovative PAUD Laboratory based on excellence, independence, and scholarliness in 2025. Therefore, the PAUD Laboratory also opens registration for new students. 

 

The PAUD Laboratory is a learning facility for the UNY academic community in reviewing and implementing culture-based PAUD science through education, research, service, and services to children and society in general. The PAUD Laboratory is divided into three development centers: the Research Center, Learning Center, and Child Care Services. The laboratory is an essential component in learning in higher education to provide an overview of the world of educational practice and realize the function of the tri dharma of higher education. In addition, the laboratory is a means of education, research, community service, and community service by lecturers and students, added Joko.

The Rector of UNY symbolically cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the PAUD Laboratory. This activity was accompanied by a PAUD Seminar, PAUD level coloring competition, and Bazaar, all managed by students. The building, which has three floors, can also be used as a meeting building and the teaching and learning process.
